Young Anglers Shine with Smoothhounds, Bass, and Dogfish

A recent trip with a group of young anglers showed just how rewarding time afloat can be, even when the weather isn’t on your side. With a fresh north-easterly breeze blowing, we headed 4 miles offshore to a comfortable mark where conditions allowed us to fish in good stead.

The effort was well worth it. Smoothhounds, bass, and dogfish kept rods bending throughout the day, delivering plenty of action for everyone on board. For some, it was their first time boat fishing – and they took to it brilliantly.

There was a great atmosphere on deck: smiles all round, plenty of laughter, and a real sense of achievement as each fish came over the rail. Trips like these highlight what fishing is all about – introducing new anglers to the sport, sharing experiences, and creating memories that last well beyond the day itself.
