Beyond the Rough Tower: A Day of Variety on the Ship Wash

On a trip last week, we pushed the inshore boundaries and fished beyond the Rough Tower, heading out onto the Ship Wash. It was a move that paid off, with a steady mix of species and plenty of action across the boat.

We found smoothhounds, thornback ray, and bass, keeping rods bending and anglers smiling. There was no shortage of variety, which made for an exciting session.

A special mention goes to young Max, who joined us for his second trip. He had an excellent day, bringing in smoothhounds, a thornback ray, dogfish, a dab, and rounding it off with a lovely bass to take home. An outstanding effort and a perfect example of how quickly confidence grows with a bit of experience on the water.

The day was a great reminder of why we love this stretch of coast: unpredictable, rewarding, and always capable of producing a memorable mix of species.
